drifting on reefs
Fishing For
|

Past few days rougher waters has made it difficult to troll. From the store it seems to be calm, like today, and everyone said good 4's out there. Best report we have had has
been drifting on the reefs, crib and toussaint, casting for the
walleyes, so if you're a good caster this is where you need to be. Perch fishing has been tough with anchoring and too
much chop to the lake. These are all conditions that change from morning to evening. Haven't seen too many bank fishermen they all must be resting. Captain Dave from The Happy Hooker. |

For being this far into July there sure is not many fishermen fishing, This is probably one of the few times that you can fish
how you fish best and catch walleye. Some are casting , some trolling, Favorite walleye holes haven't changed much in past few weeks, crane creek, the reefs, north & northeast of West Sister and out by the kidney. Perch fishermen still going 1 mile NORTH of B-can, and between C can and Niagara. Hot items in store Perch Rigs, Fintail trolling spoons $2.75 each. Captain Dave from The Happy Hooker. |

weather hot and sticky

Wish we could give you a great fishing report, instead fish are
still scattered from Crane Creek to NE of West Sister to the
kidney, trolling seems to be king in these areas. If your a good caster try fishing the reefs, toussaint, crib, round, locust those pesky walleye's are in there. Perch still good 1 mile north of B-Can. We have a full moon so minnows might be in
short supply, right now we have plenty, all depends on demand.
Things really haven't changed on fishing report for weeks, so due to some family issues there may not be a report on line for a few days, (don't be whinning) The store will be open come in
and talk to the pro-staff for the latest info. Captain Dave from
The Happy Hooker. Store Hours Mon, Tues, Weds 6:00 a.m. to 5:oo pm. Thurs-Fri-Sat- 5:00 a.m. to around 6:00 pm. Sunday 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. |

Fishing For

Even with the warm humid weather most fishermen have limits by
l0:00a.m. using deep little rippers and spoons, from Crane creek
to A Can to the water intake, 24 foot of water, hot rippers are
hot tamale, red headed wonderbread, Oheha Red, (All bright colors) Spoons colors lami cakes, I don't care, I don't know,
pink panties. Also walleye fishing good 3 miles north of B-C
can, 30 feet of water 18 feet down. Perch, 1 mile north of B-C
can, we do have shinners, full moon is on the way down which will make the shinners more plentiful. Planning on good walleye fishing weekend, weather lookin good. Captain Dave from
The Happy Hooker.

Walleye's, Perch take your pick or both
Fishing For

Early morning walleye bite along crane creek to A Can- to intake
still good using deep little rippers in 24 feet of water, nothing new here. Also, around A-B-C cans trolling circling the cans still a deep little ripper, spoon bite. Also NE of West Sister trolling toward kidney and kidney area good Deep Reefrunner, spoon bite. As you can tell the walleyes are still
scattered, and you have to work for them to catch, not jumping in the boat. PERCH -- We have nice emerald shinners, hopefully enough for the weekend we get some in everyday. Perchin has been
good North of B-C cans and C-Can to Niagara, some days they are nice 8-10's at least some days you have to sort. Remember you are allowed 30 perch (the rules book says 25) but we called ODNR
and they are saying it was moved up to 30. My fishing trip yesterday, It started off being very windy and rough so we ended up perch fishing behind the breakwall at Lorain, that NE wind we had the night before moved all those better perch out somewhere, we did catch some nice ones, but it wasn't fast & furious like we wanted we ended up with about 50 nice ones (2 of us) We would of done just as good north of B-can. Calling for
good weather this weekend, fishing for walleye and perch should be great. Captain Dave from The Happy Hooker. |

Fishing tough today
Fishing For
|
| |
|
To day was definately a tougher bite, of course this hot humid
weather has taken its toll on fishermen and fish. Some fishermen did have limits but more didn't. Cooler weather that
is predicted will help some for the weekend bite. We still have shinners. Captain Dave from The Happy Hooker |
